Project : ZERO
A downloadable game environment
The goal of Project: ZERO was to create a set of tools that would allow a single artist to create large scale worlds efficiently through the use of procedural generation.
Inspired by the real Ukrainian ghost city, Pripyat, my goal was to create a tool that could generate similar styled cities based on user defined roads.
The project consisted of 2 main tools: the layout tool and the building tool, together these tools worked to create the procedural city enviornment.
The Layout Tool
The user would define various roads within Unreal Engine using curves, the user would also define the city area using a closed curve, the layout tool would then generate a blockout of the city based on these roads
The Building Tool
The generated blockout city would then be inputed into the building tool. Through the use of data tables containing the modules and floor pattterns the user can generate various different buildings just from typing in various patterns.
